Additional Services

Music Retail

We sell all the supplies needed for band and orchestra programs!  We also have a decent selection of method books for strings, band, piano, guitar and percussion, and some popular sheet music selections.

Also:

  • Guitar Strings and Straps

  • TONS of Guitar Picks

  • Drumsticks

  • Wind Instrument Cleaning Swabs

  • Reeds

We also have a good selection of music-themed gifts for the musician in your family, or to treat yourself!  Check it out!

Instrument Repairs

At Music Room we do most functional repairs and a few cosmetic repairs.  We've even been known to do restoration of a few historical instruments!

When you come in, one of our technicians will spend a couple minutes letting you know what's going on with it and what kind of work will need to be done before you ever leave the shop, including an estimate.

We take pride in earning your trust by being upfront about what's going on with your instrument whether your report is "It doesn't play", or you know exactly what it needs.  We're always here to help!

Did you know we have an Internship Program?

Our interns are usually high school seniors that are going for music education or music business in college.  This opportunity is used to fulfill service hours needed for graduation, but with so much more included!  Students will learn how to co-teach lessons, do simple instrument repairs, learn how a business in music is run, how to organize and put on performing events, and SO MUCH MORE!  Most internship experiences take about 4 months to complete and scheduling is flexible.  We normally can take on 2 interns.

Currently we have _0__ openings for Summer/Fall '23, but can take on 2 students for Winter/Spring '24.

Music Room Scholarship Program

Each year that goes by, we try to raise $500 for the Carl Bessing Memorial Scholarship, in honor of Music Room's founder.  Scholarship winners are normally announced at the August Picnic Recital, as long as the amount has been earned.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. No outstanding unpaid lessons that weren't made up.

  2. Show consistent improvement through practice.

  3. Have an attitude of dedication, willingness to learn and positivity in lessons and at events.

  4. Often participate in Music Room's performing events (doesn't have to be each one).

  5. Often participates in performing arts opportunities at school or in the community.
